Monday 4/13..John Gorton our Lay Pastor went for his MRI and he will know results hopefully on Thursday, what is causing all of his problems. Also John Cluba was taken back to the hospital 4/14, he was suffering terrible pain, the surgery he had, has not helped ease the pain. His wife Lynda is doing well, she had a bad fall breaking her femur bone, can not put any weight on it. Merle Van Gieson also is healing well from his broken ankle, and will soon be able to resume his old duties. 4/19..update..John Cluba remains in the hospital and Lynda went down to visit him today, they are a very loving couple and being separated during their time of needing one another has its lonely time. It’s very sad as there is so much sickness with our Church Members and their families.

God Bless them all and Praying for their Comfort and Healing Strength. All Prayers from My readers are welcome. Thank You!!!

Tuesday, 4/14. The 500 Card Club met at the lovely home of Nancy Martinson, everyone coming about noon time, Nancy had prepared delicious snacks for everyone to enjoy, desserts and drinks. Everyone took what they wanted to eat and soon they were playing cards. Therese Begnoche had high score at the end of their play, Denise Baker was second high, low score was Sandy Brown and she was a sub for Sue Cherrier, Brent Godin was a sub for Marge Cummings. There was a four way btie with most horses, Connie McFarland and Stacy Gregoire had high card draw, Connie was high but shared her win with Stacey. As long as everyone was happy. It was a rainy afternoon and being inside they were all nice and dry, enjoyed their time together. Sue Peters will host in May.

Wednesday, 4/15..Bowling is played at the Lowell Bowling Alley. Sue Peters picks me up just before noon and we meet up with the other three ladies in the Center, Patti Perl was driving today, she had her Bronco vehicle to bring us to the Bowling Alley, us, is Elsie, Carole, Sue and Me. Today the Turkey Team had the Crusaders Team playing along side of us. That is always fun, to get to know other players. They all enjoy the fun. It’s great to witness the sportsmanship of everyone. I am sort the newest person that goes, just to keep score, which I am getting better at. Some of the bowling balls have a sleeper and those are hard for me to know, but getting better. Next week we are having a pot-luck upon getting there at noon and play a game after before coming home. We will miss one of our Turkey Players as she will be, headed to Hawaii for a Wedding, our Sue Peters.

Thursday afternoon…The Vermont Electric Company came with their equipment and four men to set a new pole in across the street from me. I went over after they had a hole dug for the new pole. The fellow digging with that huge drill said to me there are no short of stones here in Montgomery, I have often heard that remark, as Montgomery has so many stones, I have a few of them in my yard as I like to find different shapes. There were four men and of the four I knew two, Fred Jewett the son of Wayne and Evelyn of Enosburg, and George Jacobs the 4th from Richford, his parents George and Jean, I knew that he existed, but as we aged these kids grew up and have families of their own. As Sonny and I were the best of Friends with his Uncle Roger and Aunt Shirley. That opened up so many special memories we had throughout so many wonderful years. Sonny was best man at Roger and Shirleys wedding, Roger and Sonny met while in the National Guards, back in the mid 50’s.

Friday it was a lovely sunny afternoon and I took my rake and went out to get started raking the leaves away from my hosta’s. There were so many and heavy with the recent rains making them soaked right down to the ice that still lingers. I got the ones near the driveway done, today Saturday I went out and scooped many leaves up and had a bucket to put them in so I could dump them in the large leaf bags to take away. I did not rake as it was too windy. Penny has Skylar in her care for a while today, took her for a stroller ride up and back to Black Falls Bridge. But this afternoon the wind seems even stronger, Penny tried walking with her but it was much too strong for both of them, she came right back in. It’s amazing how fast the baby is getting to know her Grammy, and when she came back in, she had her sun glasses on and Skylar knew right away, Grammy sounds the same but looks different, Penny took the glasses off and she knew her Grammy right away. It’s amazing how they change from week to week. 4/19,, Just today while I was with my Quilting Circle Friends selling raffle tickets on one of our big beautiful quilts, a fellow that lives just below Newton’s home, remarked to me how HAPPY PENNY has become to be a Grandmother of beautiful little Skylar Newton. Yes, she Loves her so Much…Proud Grammy!!!

4/19. WHAT is that coming out of the Sky early this morning..rain mixed with snow, @ 40 D but this afternoon its just snow at 30 degrees, here in the Village but on the higher elevations the snow is piling up. John Gorton our Lay Pastor came and officiated our morning service entitled his sermon “Faith Surprise”; and his wife Cathy came to play the organ for us in the absence of Patrick Evans. Patrick was not feeling well, decided to stay home. WE sure hope he feels better soon, he rarely misses a Sunday. PS…Sue Peters had invited me to accompany her to the Winter Market held in doors at the Town Hall in Montgomery Center. This was my first..and very impressive at all the nice things that these Vendors had made and brought in sour dough breads and desserts, home made chocolates/candy, jellies/jams, people that sharpen knives, lawnmower blades, letting us know his business, art work, local meats grown right here in Montgomery, and the Quilting Circle Ladies joined in to sell tickets on a beautiful Quilt made by the Ladies right here in Montgomery. We will be around awhile selling tickets, if by chance you want to buy, I have tickets also, will be glad to help out. The Farmer’s Market starts June 27, for this year, there is a need for more vendors, just to let you know.

Rock and Roll. 4. After the lion ate the entire bull, he felt so good he started roaring, He kept it up until a hunter became so annoyed, he shot him. Moral of story: When you are full of bull, Keep your mouth shut.!!…I had to change #4 about bowling a bit risky for some readers..but funny.
