LOIS WITH THE MONTGOMERY NEWS, NOVEMBER 30, 2025

What is this date..the last day of November 2025. WOW, this month flew by and left us with lots of snow, which has been perfect for the ski areas. On the News Jay Peak was having nearly 2000 people coming with this holiday snow storm, everyone excited and having so much fun. Maybe that is where the snow gets its name as being white gold. Just hope everyone has had a wonderful delicious Thanksgiving Dinner with Family and Friends. We did..once the pop-up, popped up. That was our little wait time, but it was very delicious, My son-in-law did the carving for us and served us and then after dinner cut the meat off the bone. Thank You Andre’!!

On Tuesday Sue Peters, picked up Sandy Bowman to take her too her Dr. Appointments at the Hospital in St. Albans that takes almost 3 hours. Sue invited me to come with her to shop around, as Sandy would call her as soon as she was done. That went well for all three of us. Once back home, Penny had taken a message from Linda Van Gieson, that Merle was taken to the hospital., and she wanted him put on our Church Prayer Chain. His blood pressure was up and down, he was in the hospital over night on a heart monitor, he came home the next day.

Wednesday, I was up early to make my pies before going to the bowling h, I went to put my pumpkin pie in the oven, hit my finger on the hot oven rack, made me jump, the pie filling slopped over the crust into the bottom of the oven, I grabbed a towel to wipe what I could up..but it burned on..as the apple pie went over also..scrubbed it all off once it cooled down, then I needed to cool down. It was quite the morning..as Penny had the same idea as me, she was up early to prepare the dressing…We ended up peeling the potatoes together..and were done in the kitchen for awhile. Sue Peters picked me up at 11:50 and to the Center we went to pick up Elsie and Carol, as Sue was driving today, to the Bowling Alley.

Friday..Maggie called to invite me to come to Hannafords with her, and I needed a few items and we were off at 7:40 or so, and back home by 9. Later in the forenoon Penny had invited her son David and his Special Lady Destiny for leftovers..almost as good as the original dinner. They stayed and visited for a little while, Destiny is carrying a little Girl and she will soon be here in February, lots of excitement around the Newton household and Lumbra’s. We had snow showers all day long.

Penny received News on her phone that a long time Friend of ours has passed away. Marilyn Baker passed on Thanksgiving Day, she has been at a rehab in St. Albans for a while. I talked with Dougie and he said her wishes were to have a Graveside Service in the Spring. God Bless this Family!!!

Yes, It’s Advent season right after THANKSGIVING, Today Will Moses, Penny and Me went down to the Church to get our needy items out of storage for Sunday 11/30 . As our Church Service is entitled “Deck The Halls.” The Church will be decorated for the Christmas season. 11.30 Sunday John came bringing the bulletins, but forgot some of the Deck The Halls Service, but called his wife and she sent him the necessary readings. We got the Church decorated and looked very nice. **Please Note. The M.H. Society will not be having their Candles and Carols Event this year..SO we are planning a special at the United Methodist Church on December 21, at 5 p.m. We will also be having our Christmas Eve Service at 5 p.m. 12/24/25.

Events: 12/13/25 Christmas Community Craft Sale to be held at the Elementary School Gym. 9 a – 3 pm.

The Christmas Horse Drawn Wagon Rides will be held December 20th at 11 a. – 2 p.m at the M.H. Society. Santa will visit at noon time..he has made plans with the Fire Department for a ride down on the Fire Truck. Welcome Everyone..this is a Family Fun Day!!!

Anniversary Wishes to Richard and Diane McAllister..They announced at our Church service today 11/30 it was their 51 st ..We sang Happy Anniversary to them and Congratulated them.
