HAPPY EASTER, HAPPY SPRING!!! A new beginning to a new month. For Sandy Bowman she had her second knee operation 3/30/26 and came home the very afternoon, she called me and surprised me when she said I am home, I am doing well, and my daughter Jill is going to be with me for a few days to help out. She has done well this week and that is amazing. Our Pastor John Gorton has been on the mend with his new medication..which seems to be helping him feel better. Richard McAllister from Richford had an appointment this last Monday also to see a heart specialist in Burlington..that will be on going for him for awhile.

Tuesday, I went with Lois Babbitt to Enosburg to give her a helping hand. We also have a wonderful friendship,,that has gone on for years. We also went back on Friday to get the things that we could not get Tuesday, and they still were out, Lois really had her mind set on getting hot cross buns..nothing available. Wednesday..was Bowling Day, Carole Farmer drove us ladies this week, Elsie, Patti, Sue and Me. The Turkeys had another 3 players (the Try Hards) join us this week that was fun and exciting. ..keeping score for 6 of us. Many players get their names by trying hard to get the ball down the alley without going in the gutter. We only have a couple more weeks before our ending with Pot-luck and play a full game before going home.

Thursday, the April Senior dinners were both scheduled for the same day, (4/2) the one in Montgomery Center by chef Joey Buttendorf..By Lise Gates at the Dairy Center. I have been attending the monthly dinner at the Dairy Center as my Nieces come and enjoy dinner with me and Friends. Lise had a wonderful Ham dinner with scalloped potatoes, cold or hot veggies, rolls, dessert was ragamuffin…very delicious. As always the Country music is fabulous!!!…

Saturday, Amber Farnham and Grammy Penny Lumbra had planned on meeting here where Penny will be taking care of her granddaughter Skylar Newton. Amber and her daughter Sky came just before one p.m. and Sky got to hold Skylar and feed her. Amber and Sky had plans of attending the Easter Egg Hunt event. I had intentions of going up, and Amber said come with me.

So I got ready to go with her and Sky. Once we got to the event at 1:35 or so, the one man band was playing country music, and it was wonderful, at this time there were several children of all ages gathering to be the first in line to go and pick up the eggs that had been scattered around in two separate, roped off spaces, for the children 5 and under, and 6 and older. The 2 o”clock count down was the starting GO. The spaces just filled up so quickly..and the children had so many eggs to fill their baskets..a real jolly fun time. Izzy had 6 raffle baskets filled with goodies she sold tickets on, I regret that I do not have the winners to put in the news today. The Easter Bunny came and visited all the children and that was an amazing sight for all to enjoy. Matt Crowley and Izzy’s husband grilled and served many hot dogs. The sun did a little shining down on us, which was nice as the wind was cold and brisk, we had rain earlier in the morning making the grounds wet..wet.

The Easter Egg Hunt event planned by Izzy Corriell of Montgomery Village. For the past few years she and close friends have planned and done the Egg Hunt. When Izzy placed the ads around town she asks people that come to bring a nonperishable item to help out the local Food Pantry. Tosca Smith being the new Food Pantry Coordinator, was over whelmed by the amount of food that was brought in and plus Izzy had $510.00 donated to help out. It was an amazing afternoon for so many parents coming with their children. I personally witnessed all the nice items she had purchased for the raffle packages, the Easter eggs that they had filled with candy and for her to come and share in this amazing Family Fun Event. Thank You so much Izzy and Helpers. Now after over an hour Amber wanted to go home so we went to get Sky she was sitting with her friends Finleigh and Ella opening up their eggs to see what they got for candy. The girls had a wonderful time, and Sky had been invited back with Penny and Skylar, and Sky stayed awhile visiting Penny and holding Skylar.

Our Church Service was officiated by John Gorton today, John and I served Communion. Our Church members brought in Spring flowers and Easter Lilies. John has been feeling good most the time, he was a bit uncomfortable today, he thought he had stretched a muscle in his chest area, and certain movements were uncomfortable. Sharon Devries, Vivian and her daughter Zina came to enjoy our Easter Day Message entitled..” He Is Risen.” I came home after Church and anxiously waited for Veronica to come and have Easter dinner with Penny and me. Veronica was feeling a little uncomfortable as she just recently had a wisdom tooth extracted…but she is doing well. She stayed and visited before going home. She brought over her recent new cards she had prepared for Easter using felt fabric to make bunnies, so adorable. She has a master mind of ideas she likes to make up and put them on a card. She is amazing and I’m most proud.
