Montgomery: Dinner nights, karaoke and open-mic series fill January calendar

MONTGOMERY, Vt. — Restaurants and pubs in Montgomery are leaning into the heart of winter with a steady run of weeknight events scheduled throughout January, from themed dinners to live, come-as-you-are entertainment.

Bernie’s Restaurant & Pub is listing multiple dinner specials across the month, including “Mexican Food at Bernie’s” on Jan. 1, 5, 8, 12, 15, 19, 22, 26 and 29, generally running 5 to 9 p.m. The venue is also advertising recurring “Roast Turkey Dinner” dates on Jan. 4, 11, 18 and 25, also listed for 5 to 9 p.m., giving locals and visitors a predictable option for a sit-down meal after work or on a Sunday evening.

Up the road, the Snow Shoe Lodge & Pub is posting a midweek entertainment rhythm with “Karaoke Night” and “Open Mic Night” time slots that repeat through the month. Karaoke is listed for Jan. 6, 13, 20 and 27, with open mic scheduled for Jan. 7, 14, 21 and 28, each typically running 7 to 10 p.m.

Together, the listings paint a simple picture of what Montgomery does well in January: familiar food, familiar faces and low-pressure nights out. With many days on the calendar marked “No Events,” the posted series stand out as reliable anchors for anyone trying to plan a winter evening without driving to a larger hub.
