Charlotte Hartman, police received a report at approximately 10:32 a.m. concerning a possible assault occurring at a residence on Terrapin Lane.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Troopers investigated the complaint and determined that Maxfield allegedly had physically assaulted an 18-year-old household member.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Police did not publicly identify the alleged victim, consistent with Vermont State Police policy regarding domestic violence investigations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Maxfield was issued a citation directing him to appear in Grand Isle County Superior Court on Monday, Oct. 26, at 1 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The police release indicated that Maxfield was not lodged in a correctional facility and that no bail amount was listed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The investigation was handled by the Vermont State Police St. Albans Barracks, which provides law enforcement services to communities throughout northwestern Vermont.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Authorities did not provide additional information concerning the circumstances leading to the reported assault.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The charge remains an allegation.
